Some parts of the human body have a bigger way of communicating with the outside world, with the enviroment I guess you would say and one of those parts is the intestine, the digestive system which is also the headquarters if I may call it so, for the community of microorganisms in the human body, called the microbiome. The digestive system and the intesine receive millions of bacteria and microbes from the outside, especially from food which ends up in the stomach. The microbiome as you may expect, comes with some risks because those bacteria and microbes that enter your body can indeed cause some harm and some obvious and common examples are diarrhea or the cold and the flu which many children as well as adults get and suffer from.
However not all microorganisms out there are harmful, thankfully, and I want to talk about that today, more specifically I want to talk about probiotic bacteria, some of you were probably expecting this because they aren't as unpopular as they were years ago, probiotic supplements are definitely rising in popularity and so, we need to talk about them.
